Mike and Jean Conley have a rich background in ministry...
Mike is a former Roman Catholic priest and studied theology in Washington, D.C. He is also an educator and holds an M.S. in chemistry and an M.S.A. in administration from the University of Notre Dame. Currently, he is earning a Doctor of Ministry with a concentration in science and religion.
Jean holds a M.Th. in contemporary Christianity, a B.A. in human behavior and speech communication. She has life coach training and has written a book on self-image, entitled Coach Your Way to a Great Self-Image.
Mike and Jean have written a book about their life and love story, which focuses on the issue of lifetime vowed celibacy: Celibate Lovers. They have both studied the historical Jesus extensively through the recent research done by scholars of the Jesus Seminar and also present workshops on this topic, as well as spirituality, relationship, and self-image. Additionally, they are both certified to witness marriages through the Federation of Christian Ministries and are affiliated with the Center for Progressive Christianity.
They are administrators of an online university that offers contemporary ministerial and theological degrees, Global Ministries University. Jean is the Vice-President for Operations and Development and Mike is the Dean of Continuing Education.
Mike and Jean do not see their ministerial role as moral police but rather as spiritual guides whose focus is to empower people to live life fully, love wastefully, and be all they can be. It is their heartfelt belief that love is the core of life... love of self, love of all people, and love of a particular person -- life partner, spouse, soul mate. They believe their love for one another is a tangible sign of God's love and therefore consider their relationship to be the top priority in their lives.
